Published October 16, 2026 · Source announcement: October 16, 2026
The new announcement
The U.S. Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund announced that $320 million is available for its seventh distribution. The Special Master says the amount will be split equally: $160 million for 9/11-related claimants and $160 million for other eligible claimants.
The final total exceeds the previously announced minimum of $275 million, following additional qualifying deposits.
What happens next
The fund says eligible claimants authorized to receive payments will be notified of their individual amounts in December 2026. The Special Master will authorize seventh-round payments by January 1, 2027.
The fund will separately announce when rolling payments begin. Today’s announcement does not mean money has already been sent or that each claimant will receive an equal share.
For readers seeking assistance
The fund serves a legally defined group of eligible terrorism victims. The application deadline for new claimants to be considered for this round has already passed. This announcement does not reopen it.
