Jordan prosecutor files charges in Karak church-attack case
Published November 3, 2026 · Official Petra announcement
What changed
Jordan’s State Security Court prosecutor has filed terrorism-related charges over the October 23 attack on St. George Church in Hmoud, Karak Governorate, according to the official Petra news agency. The case has been referred to the State Security Court for trial proceedings.
The charges include nine counts of jointly committing terrorist acts resulting in death, along with weapons, conspiracy and other offences. This moves the case beyond the arrests reported in our October 26 briefing.
What the announcement establishes
The prosecutor says the investigation included witness testimony, evidence collection and questioning of the defendants. Filing charges presents the prosecution’s case; it is not a verdict.
The defendants remain presumed innocent unless convicted. The announcement does not report a trial outcome or establish that every alleged connection has been proved in court.
