The court development
The Justice Department announced that Prasan Nepal, 21, pleaded guilty on October 8 to conspiracy to commit sexual exploitation of a child. DOJ describes him as a senior leader of 764, an international nihilistic violent extremist network.
According to the department’s account of court documents, the network used online coercion and exploitation against minors. The case was prosecuted with involvement from the National Security Division’s Counterterrorism Section.
What remains pending
Nepal’s guilty plea is a court development, rather than an unproven charging announcement. Sentencing is scheduled for March 5, 2027; DOJ reports a statutory prison range of 15 to 30 years. No sentence has yet been imposed. This plea does not establish guilt for other people accused in the investigation.
